The environment has certain effects on our lives. Water, air and other environmental things are essential to us.
But sometimes nature is angry with us. Its fury causes danger to life and property. Cyclones are one such disaster.
During a cyclone the wind blows hard. Pressure of the atmosphere in different places and at different points of time causes cyclones in the area.
If the temperature of a place rises high, the pressure of the atmosphere becomes low. So the wind of the surrounding high pressure area blows fast and causes cyclones.
During a cyclone the wind blows at a speed of 100 K.M. or more per hour. It uproots trees, blows off the thatched houses and damages crops. So the beautiful earth looks ugly and fearful. It causes danger to the life and property of the people.
The fallen trees block the roads and railways. So buses and trains are delayed and delayed. Electric current and telephone lines are cut off.
Damage of crops causes much hardship to farmers. In a fierce cyclone a lot of people and animals are either killed or injured.
Sometimes devastating cyclones take place when the wind blows at a greater speed of about 200 kilometers or more per hour. Such a cyclonic storm blew over the coastal districts of Odisha during October 1999.
Thousands of people and domestic animals have become the victims of this super cyclone. The Phailin of 2013 is another example of severe cyclonic storms.
Government officials and volunteer organizations come to the help of the affected people in the cyclone-hit area. They supply them food and clothing. They also take the injured to hospitals for their treatment. If there is a proper weather forecast, a lot of lives can be saved as it happened in Odisha in 2013.
