My family consists of my father, mother, elder brother, and me. We all love each other very much. Father is an engineer, He is busy most of the time. Sometimes he goes to the office even on a Sunday. I know he is greatly admired because I have heard people talking of him with respect. He is extremely affectionate to me. Sometimes while introducing me to his friends by my nickname, he says I am in class VIll, when in fact I am in class lX.
My mother is warm, caring, and impulsive. She is a teacher at a high school. She is frightfully clever because besides doing her duties at school, she manages a home, her husband, and the other two of us. She is quite good at cooking.
When she gets into the mood and goes on a cooking spree, we have a good time indeed. She is not always around, but I have got used to that by now and try not to let that bother me.
Then there is my elder brother. I think something should be done about brothers, especially elder ones. He always teases me mercilessly, what is worse, he expects me to fetch things for him and does not allow me to use the telephone or listen to my favourite singer. Moreover, he does not let me watch my favourite television programs and enjoy myself.
As for myself, I am fourteen years old and extremely fond of reading but not very fond of studying. My parents often urge me to work hard and make my mark in life. In Spite of differences, we love each other dearly.
Ours is a happy family because all the members recognize the individuality of each other's character and personality. My brother and I never forget our duties towards our parents and always love and respect them.
In our family, we enjoy the freedom of speech, and everybody can give their opinion without hesitation. Of course, a certain code of conduct is insisted upon. Our parents are conscious of the generation gap and adapt themselves accordingly. Their broad-mindedness and tolerance ensure healthy and cheerful relationships.
As a happy family, we eat together, pray together, and laugh together. We believe in the virtues of love and sacrifice and are united and cared for. We stand with each other by being thick and thin and follow the pillars of the power of suffering.
